Single Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Here at the gift of oil we take great pride in offering only the very best single estate extra virgin olive oils. This means we do not just source a good oil from a good producer and then order it from them each year and wait to see what eventually turns up when delivered! We actually go to our partner producers each and every January and work very hard with them, tasting all of their production before selecting the blend we think you, our customer will most like.
We taste the oils produced from the early harvest, from the late harvest, from the middle harvest and even from the not so late harvest......., we taste oils from the irrigated land and from the non - irrigated land....., from the high land and the low land...., from the north facing slopes and the south facing slopes....,from the ancient trees and the young trees, as well of course as from the different olive varieties themselves!We then blend the various oils in numerous % combinations and then by a process of elimination and continuous re-blending, create something we like to think of as OUTSTANDING.In short, we MAKE each of our oils each and every year, they are OUR oils, they are not just oils ordered in and then adorned with our label, they are lovingly created oils, made to the very best of our and our family partners abilities. WE make our oils with the aim of them being the BEST!
Put it this way, our Sicilian single estate oil this year won not only a Great Taste Gold Award but also the prize for being the BEST medium intensity oil in the whole of Sicily as voted for by the Sicilians themselves!
Maybe this would not have been the case if they had realised the oil had been created infact not by Sicilians, but actually by Englishmen!
