Spaghetti alla Chitarra
Spaghetti with a difference. Not round, but square! Thereby increasing the surface area that the sauce can adhere to and consequently its deliciousness!
Made using a Chitarra (Italian for "guitar"), a fine stringed tool that the pasta dough is passed through to give the spaghetti its distinctive appearance.
The name spaghetti itself, derives from the Italian word spago, which means thin strings or twine, therefore literally, little strings.
This fantastically tasty classic from Abruzzo goes with just about any sauce but is especially good with thin, runny ones.
