A classic tomatoes, black olives and chilli sauce with its roots firmly in the Eternal City of Rome.
All'arrabbiata means "angry style" – due of course to the heat of the chillies!
This hot and spicy sauce is traditionally served with penne, but is most excellent with spaghetti too.
Great too as a sauce for a Roman chilli-con-carne, or as a soup, once passed through a blender with some added borlotti beans and a little olive oil.
Add to cut up pieces of cooked bacon, pancetta or chicken for a fiery and delicious feast!
