How Is Castelines Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Made?

This very well balanced oil is an intensely flavoured blend of four olive varieties: Aglandau (66%), Salonenque (20%), Verdale (8%) and De Grossane (6%). All of Castelines oils undergo cold extraction. From harvest to harvest, our passion for flavour and our know-how have led us to produce olive oils of highly distinctive culinary characteristics. The oil comes in a tall elegant bottle with a striking gold label.

Where are Casteline Olives Grown?

Grown in the sun-drenched foothills of the Alpilles Mountains in the south of France, Castelines organic extra virgin olive oil is produced by Jean-Benoit Hugues and his wife. Years of reflection and selection of the finest taste and character, give this olive oil a distinctive identity.

What flavours should I expect?

This organic oil has notes of green almonds, fresh hazelnuts and cut hay. It’s wonderfully smooth with a slight hint of bitterness and a peppery finish. The 2017 vintage olive oil makes a delightful well-rounded addition to many dishes.
