Beetroot Chutney

If you like the idea of making homemade gifts for your friends and family for Christmas or their birthday this year, why not try making them one, two or all three of these delicious chutneys. All are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and delicious. If you are on a budget or just prefer the more personal touch of a homemade present, you should definitely give these quick and easy chutneys a go.

  • Peel and grate the apples and grate the beetroot. Finely chop the onions. In a frying pan, soften the onions in the olive oil for several minutes.
  • Add the apples to the pan for around 2 minutes, stirring continuously. Then add the beetroot followed by the Sicilian Red Wine Vinegar, salt and the sugar.
  • Bring to the boil for 20 minutes and stir regularly. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  • SERVE
  • With Camembert or Brie cheese on a cheese board, sandwiches, wraps, burgers…anything you fancy!
