We are delighted to announce that soon we will be receiving our second shipment of ‘Early Harvest’ Sicilian Olive Oil.

This is made by the Di Lorenzo family on the beautiful Disisa Estate in Sicily. Rather than harvesting the Cerasuola olives in mid November as is traditional, this olive oil is harvested in early October. The olives are comparatively smaller and greener when they are cold-pressed, meaning less oil is gained from the pressing but it is of optimum quality; it is greener, fresher and stronger in flavour.

Even we haven’t tasted this years Early Harvest olive oil yet, as it is being bottled & shipped as we speak, but Mario informs us that it has an intense taste and aroma of fresh tomatoes and artichokes with a spicy finish on the palette. Last year it was absolutely stunning- it became a firm favourite of many of our staff and customers alike.

Early Harvest olive oil is also considered to be even better for you than traditionally harvested olive oil, because it is higher in anti-oxidants, chlorophyll and polyphenols (see this article for more information).

We will be receiving a limited amount of this Early Harvest olive oil in the new few weeks.
