Spaghetti Bolognese

Spaghetti Bolognese is probably one of the most well-known household dishes in Europe, it’s an Italian Classic that can be ready in under an hour.

It’s a recipe that allows you to experiment with fresh flavours and still taste amazing.

Ingredients

  • 200g Spaghetti
  • 500g Beef mince
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 Garlic gloves, minced
  • 1 Tbsp of tomato purée
  • 400g Of tinned chopped tomatoes
  • 1 Bunch of Basil
  • 1 Handful of grated Parmesan
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 2 Tsp premium olive oil (either our Sicilian or Alentejan – the choice is yours!)
  • Dressing
  • 3 Tbsp chilli pepper oil
  • 1 Tbsp caramelised onion balsamic

Method

  • Heat your saucepan over a medium heat with a tablespoon of our premimun olive oil and add the onion and garlic
  • Add the beef mince and season with salt and pepper
  • Cook the beef until browned all over then begin to stir in the tomato purée followed by the tinned tomatoes
  • Bring to a boil then simmer for around 30 minutes
  • Meanwhile, bring a large pan of seasoned water to the boil and add the Spaghetti
  • Stir to stop the pasta from sticking and cook for 10 minutes
  • When the pasta is fully cooked, drain with a colander and drizzle our premium olive oil over and mix well
  • Chop the basil and stir through the sauce
  • Divide the spaghetti between 4 and spoon the Bolognese on top
  • Finish with our chilli pepper infused oil and caramelised onion infused balsamic.
