Valentine's balsamic truffles

For that someone special

The lovely Kate, Business Development Manager at The Gift of Oil, has been experimenting in the kitchen creating desserts using our Chocolate & Coffee and Chilli infused balsamic vinegars.

She came up with these wickedly delicious truffles which would be perfect for you to whip up quickly to show someone just how much you love them. We must admit that we were sceptical at first. Balsamic vinegar in truffles? Whatever next! But it really does work. She has also found a way to use up left over Christmas Pudding or left over Christmas Cake.

So look no further than here for a recipe to use up left over Christmas pudding or cake, and to surprise a friend or partner on Valentine's day (or any day of the year for that matter!)

  • Crumble your cake/pudding of choice into a bowl
  • Add the couple of teaspoons of brandy and a couple of teaspoons of the balsamic of your choice.
  • Roll the mixture into a small, truffle sized ball. Melt the white chocolate and dip the truffle balls into it. Then leave to cool slightly before dipping them into a bowl of chocolate sprinkles.
  • How about adding a poem to your truffles? We will even let you borrow this one we wrote earlier:
  • Roses are red,
  • violets are blue,
  • balsamic is brown,
  • and I made these truffles all for you!
