How is Vea Extra Virgin Olive Oil Made?

The Spanish oil is made early in the harvest, young and green olives are picked at the beginning of November. The Vea family seamlessly blend the latest extraction systems with the traditional olive cultivation of past generations. The oil comes in an attractive pale green bottle with three of its four faces highlighted with white rustic engraving.

Where are Vea Olives Grown?

Vea extra virgin olive oil is produced in Catalonia by the Vea family, grown on their estate high in the hills of the Les Garrigues. The oil is made from the Arbequina olives harvested from trees of up to 200 years old that sit on ancient terraces carved into the hillside. The groves, though not all certified organic, are run in accordance with strict biodynamic principles.

What flavours should I expect?

Vea’s Spanish extra virgin olive oil is a richly flavoured one. The aroma is smoky, mingled with light dried herbs and some deeper, earthier tones, reminiscent of charcuterie. It has a fruity, fresh flavour with an aftertaste of almonds.

HARVEST DATE: Early November 2017 best before end: July 2019
