Summer’s in full swing and the kids are done with school until September, but it can be hard work keeping kids busy during the summer holidays, six whole weeks of entertaining can burn a very big hole in your wallet! However thankfully you don’t always have to venture out of the house to keep those little ones amused.

Boost your child’s creativity and pass on your kitchen inspiration by cooking tasty treats that the whole family will enjoy using a range of gift of oil products.

Here are some of our favourites treats, that are easy to cook and are fun for all:

Pizza wraps

Pizza wraps may just be the dinner solution you are looking for! That’s dinner on the table in under 20 minutes AND a cheaper and healthier alternative to shop bought ones.

These are very easy to make allowing little ones to get stuck in. Start by putting a tortilla wrap on a baking tray and spreading tomato purée over it until only the edges are uncovered, then sprinkle with a handful of cheese. Add toppings of your choice, our favourites are ham, peppers, olives and onions.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the base is crisp. Serve with a of drizzle of infused oil (basil, garlic, chilli pepper, truffle, lemon or chilli & garlic) to give it that gourmet touch and make it taste AMAZING.

Warm balsamic strawberry pancakes

You might be wondering why on earth we would put balsamic vinegar on such a delicious treat already. However the balsamic and the sweet taste of the strawberries create a lovely, rich and fruity taste, and provides the perfect healthy alternative to honey, chocolate or strawberry sauce.

Pancakes are wonderfully simple to make – all you need is 3 simple ingredients: eggs, flour and milk, allowing children to be involved in the whole cooking process, you can view the full recipe here.

You can even extend this activity by going strawberry picking, creating a creative, educational and fun day out.

Garlic bread

Always a big hit with both adults and children, garlic bread is easy to make and can be enjoyed as a snack or as part of a meal.

Learn how to make delicious garlic bread at home with this simple recipe. Our garlic infused olive oil creates a sensational flavour that’s not too over powering for little ones.

If you didn’t want to make bread, you can improvise using a panini or a French stick.

Chocolate brownies, crème fraiche and pomegranate and fig balsamic

Once mixed add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 200g of self raising flour. Mix once again and then pour into a greased tin and bake for 15 minutes. Then pop in the fridge to chill. Serve with crème fraiche and a drizzle of pomegranate and fig infused balsamic.

Balsamic cheesecake

Once you have made the other four treats, why not step your cooking abilities up and bake a balsamic cheese cake, a perfect dessert and best still this beautifully creamy and luscious cheesecake can be enjoyed any time of the year.
